Austria EU Blue Card


The Austria EU Blue Card is a combination of a work visa and residence permit that allows skilled international professionals to immigrate into, live and work in Austria. The card is initially valid for 2 years and may be renewed at the end of the 2 years. The Austria EU Blue Card also grants international professionals temporary employment and settlement.


The following requirements are to be met by the applicants of the Austria EU Blue Card for eligibility. 

Applicants must:

  • Have a Master’s degree.
  • At least have 5 years of experience.
  • Pass the labor market test.
  • Have secured a binding offer of employment that has 150% of a full-time employee’s average gross salary per year.


  • Access to other EU member states that recognize the Blue Card.
  • Austria EU Blue Card allows the holder to file for an Austria RWR visa once he or she stays employed for 21 months out of the 2 years spent in the country.
  • The Austria EU Blue Card grants the holder an immediate family unification.
  • The holder of the Austria EU Blue Card can earn permanent residence in Austria upon meeting certain requirements.

Fee Visa

The Austria EU Blue Card fee is set at €120. €80 for the Austria EU Blue Card application, €20 goes for grant and an extra €20 for personalisation.
