Saskatchewan makes Changes in the Program Criteria for the Entrepreneur Draw
Immigration authorities of Saskatchewan will hold the final Entrepreneur draw for 2019 on December 5 for accommodating criteria changes in the program and for updating the system.

Changes will lead to better terms

This draw was earlier scheduled for November 7th. This is as per the notice of the website of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. It stated that   the selection in the EOI pool was postponed. The changes declared were not announced. Currently, the stream needs a worth of $500,000 plus an investment of $300,000 benefitting Saskatoon/Regina and if it is in other area to be $200,000. Additionally, in 2019, it conducted five draws and 262 candidates successfully received the invitations to apply.

There are three stages in the processing of the stream works in which the candidates at first arrive in the province by taking the permit to work, prior to being nominated to get the permanent residence after meeting the clauses of Business Performance Agreement.

The three-stages of Entrepreneur stream in Saskatchewan immigration are:

  • Making the Expression of interest
  • Getting the Invitation for submitting the application
  • Finally obtaining the Nomination
  • The EOI has these entry requirements:
  • A net worth of $500,000 which is obtained legally
  • Three years experience in entrepreneurship or management
  • Investing $300,000 (Saskatoon or Regina), or $200,000 is other areas
These Candidates join a pool and also get a score. The candidates having the top score are invited for submitting the application.

Contents of Applications:

  • A Business Plan for Establishment which confirms the figures in EOI, and one-third ownership of  the company in the province unless that investment is worth  $1 million or above it,
  • Firm Commitment to deal with daily business management
  • Creating two jobs for citizens or permanent residents of Canada if its location is in Saskatoon or Regina,
The website also stated that the program has a right in assessing the Business Establishment Plan taking the opinion of third parties (professional) as identified by the Saskatchewan government. Finally it will have a focus on the diligence and preparation of the applicant in the business plan.
