Quebec Conducts Arrima Draw And Invites 169 Skilled Candidates -26th October, 2019

Quebec Skilled Worker Program

Quebec invited 169 applicants in the Quebec Skilled Worker Program towards immigration candidates in the draw held on September 25th. Additionally, its Immigration Ministry stated that the invited candidates in the current round were from those 16,000 QSWP candidates whose original applications were annulled after the passing of Quebec Immigration reforms in an Act dated June 16th, 2019.

Also there was an exemption for them from the cap in place when they submitted the application first to the QSWP or regarding residing in the province availing the study/work permit as on June 16th, 2019.

The invitees had an Expression of Interest for Quebec through Arrima, the online registration portal. Also now the province has invited 1,595 candidates in QSWP who had the Arrima profile after July 4th.

Aspects of Arrima

This system was introduced last year for managing the bank of candidates with a focus on QSWP after there was a shift to the system of Expression of Interest from the paper-based, and timing of arrival of application approach.

Additionally its EOI system administers the candidates’ bank for a Quebec Selection Certificate that is a requirement to apply for seeking provincial permanent residence through the Program.

Candidates state their interest after creating the Arrima profile and subsequently it is placed in the candidates’ pool and gets a rank based on the score or other factors.  The Immigration Ministry dispatches invitations for CSQ based on score of a candidate or factors like the provincial labor needs in remote regions.

Candidates receiving the CSQ can apply for PR with Federal Immigration Ministry in Canada, assigned with the task of verifying medical and criminal admission.
