Quebec Announces Details of First Expression of Interest Draw of 2020
Quebec provincial immigration has announced details of the initial draw of 2020 that took place by the Arrima's Expression of Interest system. In the 16 January 2020 draw, Quebec immigration issues 23 invitations to candidates for Canada PR.

The Applicants Invited Who Met the Below Criteria:

  • Their Quebec Skilled Worker Program application must be below the old system and was dismissed as part of the Quebec’s governing Coalition Avenir Bill 9.
  • They filed an Arrima's Expression of Interest prior to 17 December 2019.
  • They were in one of the below situations:
  1. Their dismissed application was submitted under section 5.01 of the Regulation regarding the selection of international nationals, OR
  2. They were in Quebec province on 16 June 2019 while holding a study permit or work permit.
Applicants receiving an invitation to apply have 60 days to present a complete application. It was the initial draw of 2020. Quebec announced a sum of 2,072 invitations to apply in 9 draws that conducted in 2019.

Quebec's Expression of Interest Procedure

  1. Applicants need to submit an online expression of interest profile to the M.I.D.I.
  2. Profiles access into the pool of an Expression of Interest, where they are ranked upon each other and it is valid for 12-months.
  3. Profiles will be divided into two categories: one is for applicants who are residing in Quebec or having an offer of a job and satisfy specific criteria and the other one for candidates residing outside Quebec or having an offer of a job and satisfy specific criteria.
  4. The top-ranking candidates will obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Quebec Selection Certificate below the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
  5. Quebec will attend periodic draws, inviting applicants to apply for a Quebec selection certificate (C.S.Q).
  6. Candidates obtaining an invitation have 60 days timeline to present a full application.
  7. Approved applicants who get a Quebec selection certificate (CSQ) may then apply for Canada PR.
