In the year 2018, PEI had invited 1,446 aspirants in which 1,240 belonged to Labor Impact as well as Express Entry category and 206 to Business Impact candidates. Additionally it had the largest draw on October 18, 2018, in which it invited 297 candidates.
PEI Express Entry Stream
This category works by considering candidates previously existing in federal Pool for Express Entry and gives them provincial nomination. Also this nomination attaches 600 points to CRS score of a candidate and successfully guarantees the ITA for Canadian immigration. This Category has two pathways for obtaining permanent residence, and the first caters to candidates that have a Job Offer whereas the second for candidates not having a Job Offer

The stream gives a preference to employers and allows skilled workers having an employment offer in the Island to get the nomination in Permanent residence after they meet the norms:

Work Permit Stream
Persons that apply under the PEI Work Permit Stream need obtaining a Canadian work-permit and also do work for the local businesses, for a definite time as selected in the Performance Agreement.
Additionally, when they are fulfilling the Performance Agreement, the candidates must invest $150,000 in the business as well as manage it daily basis from inside of Island
In the past Prince Edward Island had a direct PR business stream, but it was closed in September 2018.
