Prince Edward Island is all set to hold a New EOI Draw This Week -19th February, 2019

Prince Edward Island will hold its Expression of Interest draw on February 21. The will be the second draw of the year under its Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). PEI EOI covers the immigration streams for:

Express Entry,
Labor Impact and finally,
Business Impact candidates

The first draw in the year was on Jan 17, where 91 candidates received the invitation. There is also a plan to hold Monthly draws for the PEI PNP throughout the present year.

The Draw Dates are:

  • Feb 21
  • March 21
  • April 18
  • May 16
  • June 20
  • July 18
  • August 15
  • Sep 19
  • Oct 17
  • Nov 21 and finally,
  • Dec 19

In 2018, PEI issued 1,446 invitations totally.  The breakup was 1,240 to Labor Impact and Express Entry candidates, and 206 to Business Impact candidates. Additionally, it conducted the largest draw on Oct 18, 2018, where 297 candidates received the invitation

PEI Express Entry Stream

This category considers candidates who are already present in the EE Pool seeking the provincial nomination. After this nomination there is an addition of 600 points also to the CRS score of a candidate. Moreover, this serves as an effective guarantee to get an ITA for Canadian immigration. There are two pathways in the PEI Express Entry features towards Canada permanent residence. The first is for candidates having a job offer and the second for candidates without a job offer.

PEI Labor Impact Category

1) Skilled Worker Stream

This stream has a focus on employers and allows nomination of skilled workers having a Job offer in PEI. They have to meet these criteria:

  • A full time employment offer from a local business in an occupation having the classification of skill level 0, A or B of the NOC;
  • Completing 14 years of post-secondary education;
  • Age Between 21-55 years;
  • 2 years full time work experience in the last 5 years;
  • Moreover, Sufficient proficiency in English/French to work in that  employment;
  • Adequate  settlement funds; and finally,
  • An intention to settle in PEI.

2) Critical Worker Stream

This category aims to resolve labor shortages and remains open to overseas workers staying already in the Island serving in specific demand occupations. The nomination criteria for are:

  • A full time employment offer of from a local business as:
    • Truck drivers;
    • Customer service representatives;
    • Laborers;
    • Food & beverage servers; and finally,
    • Housekeeping attendants.
  • 6 months of local business work experience ;
  • Current work permit that is valid;
  • High school diploma and 12 years of formal education;
  • Age Between 21-55 years;
  • 2 years of full-time work experience in the last 5 years;
  • Moreover, Sufficient proficiency in English/French to work in that  employment;
  • Adequate  settlement funds; and finally,
  • An intention to settle in PEI.

PEI Business Impact Category

Work Permit Stream

Furthermore, Persons applying under this Stream have to obtain a work permit and work for a P.E.I. business for a specific time as per the Performance Agreement. After fulfilling the Performance Agreement applicants must invest $150,000 in the business and managing it on a daily basis within the Island.
