Ontario Immigration: Issues 1,773 ITAs to Candidates with CRS Score 435

Latest Ontario Tech Draw conducted on 1 August 2019, announced 1,773 invitations to Express Entry applicants with work experience in one of 6 tech professions and the score in Comprehensive Ranking System as less as 435.

It was second Tech Draw of the Ontario since their initiation in early July, and a sum of 3,396 Express Entry aspirants have now got invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for Canada PR.

Ontario is home to many major tech hubs of Canada, prominently those in the cities of Ottawa, Toronto, and Waterloo, and Tech Draws are intended to satisfy increasing labor demands in the sector.

Higher than 80,000 technology jobs have been produced in Ontario’s capital city, Toronto, alone in the past five years, as per the CBRE Scoring Tech Talent 2019 Report.

Tech Draws enable Ontario to explore the Express Entry pool and invite qualified applicants to apply for a nomination from the province. All applicants in the Canadian Express Entry pool are given a score under the CRS, and the top-scoring applicants are invited to apply for Canada PR by regular draws from the pool.

To be counted for an invitation from Ontario, applicants must first provide an Express Entry profile. Whereas the least score to be drawn from the pool of Express Entry by the most federal current draw was 459, this O.I.N.P Tech Draw chose candidates with a CRS score as less as 435.

Procedure of Ontario Tech Draw

Tech Draws focused on Express Entry applicants with work experience in one of 6 tech professions:

  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)

Tech Draws are managed through Human Capital Priorities Stream. The stream of Ontario is one of three operated by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program that enables Ontario to choose qualified Express Entry candidates.

An employment offer is not needed. Those who obtained invitations to apply for a nomination from the province for Canadian PR in the 1 August 2019 Tech Draw produced their Express Entry profile within 1 August 2018, and 1 August 2019.
