Nova Scotia immigration issued the highest invitations for the present year in its draw held on June 24 in the provincial Entrepreneur stream. It was fourth such draw for 2019. The lowest minimum score of this draw was at 110. 43 candidates received the Invitations whereas the overall record is 44 for the stream in Oct 2018.

Provincial Entrepreneur Stream

The Entrepreneur stream attracts candidates who possess Business Ownership or an experience in the Senior Management. They have to reside in Nova Scotia; start a new business or also buy a present business, in which they must participate actively in its daily management.

Moreover, under the stream, candidates first get the temporary work permit prior to applying for PR subsequent to working in the business for one year. There is an Expression of Interest format in the stream in which the candidates of the pool get the invitation to apply.

Qualifying For the Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Stream

  • Submission of the Expression of Interest
  • Getting the Invitation to Apply
  • Attending the Personal Interview and signing the Business Performance Agreement
  • Obtaining the Work Permit and Establishing the Business within Nova Scotia
  • Requesting for Nomination
  • Applying for Permanent Residence

Candidate Requirements in the Stream

  • The age must be 21 years,
  • Intend to live permanently in the province while owning and managing the Nova Scotia business actively,
  • A net worth of $600,000
  • Investment of $150,000 for establishing or purchasing a local business
  • Three years experience in active management and owning of business at 33 percent ownership, or more than five years experience as the senior business manager
  • Scoring 5 on the CLB in listening, speaking, writing and reading in English/French
