Newfoundland will open Entrepreneurs Expressions of Interest in August
Immigration authorities of Newfoundland & Labrador will open International Entrepreneur category to receive the fourth round of EOI in August 2019.

The stream in Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Nominee Program will open from August 9 and run until August 15. The candidates in the International Entrepreneur category have to settle within the area of the province and perform the day to day functions of the business which they create, take over or join. Additionally there is a powerful business environment, and safe, inclusive community network in the province. There is a great place for the prospective immigrants to join, settle, and grow a business here.

For the moment, the provincial stream catering to the International Graduate Entrepreneurs is open for an indefinite period to accept EOI .  

Candidates must be graduates belonging to the College of the North Atlantic or to the Memorial University for qualifying.

International Entrepreneur Category

This category caters to senior business managers or experienced business owners intending to reside in Newfoundland and Labrador permanently.

The Requirements are:

  • Age of 21 -59 years,
  • Providing the business plan and supporting financial documents for verification,
  • Having a high school diploma or an equivalent diploma in Canada,
  • Intention to live in Newfoundland & Labrador, permanently, and owning or actively managing business activities that brings several benefits in this province,
  • Having $600,000 in business /personal assets without any encumbrances that are easily transferable to Canada,
  • Investing $200,000 for establishing a business in the province and having 33.3 percent ownership or $1 million of equity investment,
  • Creating a job for   permanent residents or citizens of Canada on a full-time basis,
  • This business entity must aim at profits by the sale of goods /services.
  • Having two years’ experience to manage and own the business with a 25 percent ownership actively, during the past five years OR 5 years of experience as senior business managers during the past 10 years.
  • Scoring 5 on the CLB in English or French listening, speaking, reading and writing in General Training Test; CELPIP General Test, or IELTS,  or the Test d’evaluation de francais;
  • Completion of the EOI online
  • Receiving the ITA from the Newfoundland & Labrador Immigration Office

International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

The International Graduate Entrepreneur category is aimed at Memorial University graduates or those belonging to College of the North Atlantic, who start or buy the local business.

Requirements:

  • Age of 21 -59 years,
  • Providing the business plan and supporting financial documents for verification,
  • Candidates must be graduates belonging to the College of the North Atlantic or to the Memorial University for qualifying after studying for full-time in two academic years. This degree/diploma must be completed before two years of submitting the EOI
  • Possession of the valid Post-Graduate Work Permit
  • Intention to live in Newfoundland & Labrador, permanently, and owning or actively managing business activities that brings many benefits in the province,
  • Having $600,000 in business/personal assets, without any encumbrances, that are easily transferable to Canada,
  • Investing $200,000 for establishing a business in the province and having 33.3 percent ownership or $1 million of equity investment,
  • Creating a job for  permanent residents  or citizens of Canada for a  full-time basis,
  • This business entity must aim at profits by the sale of goods /services.
  • Having two year continuous experience to actively manage and own the present business with 33.3 percent ownership; during the past five years OR ten years of experience as a senior business manager
  • Scoring 7 on the CLB in English or French listening, speaking, reading and writing in CELPIP General Test, or IELTS, General Training Test; or the Test d’evaluation de francais;
  • Completion of the EOI online
  • Receiving the ITA from the Newfoundland & Labrador Immigration Office
