Newfoundland Designates 279 Employers for Its Atlantic Immigration Pilot
The list of designated employers in Newfoundland & Labrador immigration serving the Atlantic Immigration Pilot has at present reached 279 businesses.

Boost to Canada immigration

There was an expansion of list for designated employers by 100 after September 2018. Also the province brings out the full list of all the designed employers through its website in the Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Nominee Program.

The businesses presently have access to a dedicated stream for immigration to attract intermediate-skilled workers, top skilled workers, and global graduates to this region.

The AIP has a focus on employers and also requires candidates to get the job offer and present a Settlement Plan prior to issuing the provincial endorsement. After obtaining this endorsement, they can submit the application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and seek the permanent residence. This is a measure to encourage overseas nationals to get in touch.

The authorities fast-track the interested and eligible international graduates and foreign workers with job offers from the designated employers to get permanent residence in Canada.

The Scheme Is Getting Popular

Presently the designated employers in the list are restaurants and coffee shop owners, aerospace companies, and many others with a location in communities. Newfoundland and Labrador is presently the only province that is participating in the AIPP to make its list public covering the designated employers.

As per a government report there are several job openings now and for the period till 2025 owing to a steep decline in population in the province. The focus in the province is on jobs that the locals cannot fill up.

The employer has to be designated by the provincial government and the process requires specific commitments made by the employers, working with provider of settlement services for helping the principal applicants/families to adjust to living in Canada.
