Manitoba Draw Invites 209 Skilled Workers And International Graduates -11th June, 2019

In the draw held on June 7, Manitoba issued 209 invitations, to immigration candidates, and also to seek the provincial nomination, for permanent residence in Canada.

The details

The beneficiaries of these invitations, - Letters of Advice to Apply were the candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education, and finally the Skilled Workers Overseas streams.

The breakdown of Invitations in this draw was:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 121 LAAs at a Minimum score of 542
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 60 LAAs at a Minimum score of 701
  • International Education Stream also received 28 LAAs.

Candidates receiving them get 60 days for submitting the completed application to the Program. It permits the province in nominating economic immigration candidates for permanent residence.

Manitoba is a favorite destination for all newcomers to reach Canada. There were a record 5,207 nominations for permanent residence. Among these, 65 percent belonged to Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream candidates, and 33 per to Skilled Workers Overseas.

The reasons for the popularity

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream helps eligible temporary overseas workers as well as international graduates who presently work in Manitoba. They also receive a permanent, full-time job offer from a local employer.

The Skilled Workers Overseas Stream helps the MPNP in nominating eligible candidates that live outside Canada but have established a connection to the province like the support of family members/friend, or the previous education/work experience in the province. Also, the invitation to one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives is also helpful. Additionally, all the 60 SWO candidates receiving the LAA on June 7 got the Direct Invitation in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The International Education Stream offers three paths to obtain the permanent residence for international graduates of Manitoba after completing education in secondary institutions.

Steps: Expressing interest

The first step for seeking the provincial nomination in Manitoba is submitting an Expression of Interest to the Program.

Candidates get the score which determines their position and ranking among the pool of candidates depending on the answers that they provide in the EOI. The top scoring candidates receive the LAAs through frequent draws.

The MPNP also stated that among the 209 LAAs 18 were issued to candidates belonging to the federal Express Entry system. It administers the pool of candidates for —

  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class, and finally,
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class

All Express Entry aspirants also have to register a separate Expression of Interest with the Program. Moreover, they need having the Job-Seeker Validation Code and sufficient experience in a top occupation appearing on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List.


The candidates in Express Entry who successfully receive the provincial nomination get 600 additional points in their Comprehensive Ranking System score. They are on the fast-tracked to get the invitation to apply for permanent residence in the country.
