Research Applications for Green Talents

The Green Talents serves as an international forum to carry out the noble task of sustainable development. It invites applications from budding scientists to display their pursuits in research, and also for conducting research in Germany. For 2019, it has a contest theme ‘Smart green planet solutions to get the sustainable future’. The last date to apply for the interested candidates is May 22, 2019.

The details

The contest winner will get a two-week green talent science forum 2019 that is fully-funded. Moreover, he/she can stay for a maximum period of three months to conduct research- at his/her institution of choice in Germany for the next year.

Its Host is the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany. This initiative is running for a decade, and also selects 25 young and promising scientists internationally every year.

Eligibility norms:

Candidates must have the Master’s degree or must be studying Ph.D. and have a work experience not exceeding three years. They must also be proficient in English.

In 2018, India was home to three winners.

  • Vishal Tripathi (Banaras Hindu University) had a research focus on ‘bio-remedition of contaminated soil for achieving sustainable development goals of UN’.
  • Mohit Saraf (IIT-Indore) dealt with ‘nano-materials for electrochemical energy storage and sensors’,
  • Ishani Kurana (University of Delhi) with the research topic of ‘synthesis of graphene-based composites for removing of water pollutants’.
It is a perfect platform for connecting with an exceptional network of scientists and research elite in Germany. The talents can also promote their ideas at an international level.
