Canada Immigration: Welcomes Caregivers with New Two New Pilot Programs
As of 8 October 2019, Canada has terminated the Caregivers Interim Pathway. This pathway was temporary, granting a Canada PR opportunity for caregivers while Canada turns out two new caregiver pilot programs by 2019.

Caregivers who are excited about migrating to Canada still have chances. There are presently two immigration programs in running that are specially created for caregivers.

Two Latest Pilot Programs for Caregivers

Canada’s two latest caregiver’s pilot programs are accepting appeals. International caregivers reaching to work in Canada will no longer have to leave close members of their family behind and will have a clear straightforward pathway to Canada PR, through the new pilot programs:

  • Home Child Care Provider Pilot Program
  • Home Support Worker Pilot Program
The new pilot programs initiated for appeals on 18 June 2019, substituting the terminated Caring for Children & for People with High Medical Demands pilots, which have been abused for holding some workers stuck in offensive workplaces and separated from their family members abroad. The government of Liberal, which was not in office during those pilots, was launched in 2014, marked them “ineffective”.

Caregivers will presently receive a Canadian work permit if they have an employment offer in Canada and achieve standard requirements for economic immigration classes. Once caregivers started working in Canada, they can begin receiving the required 2 years of work experience to apply for Canada PR.

Advantages of New Caregiver Pilot Programs

By the Home Support Worker Pilot, and Home Child Care Provider Pilot caregivers will also profit from:

  • Occupation special work permits, preferably than employer-specific, to provide for a quick change of companies when they needed;
  • Caregivers’ and their immediate family members, can get Canadian open work permits & study permits; and
  • A clear change from temporary to PR status, to assure that once caregivers have reached the work experience demand, they can become Canadian permanent residents immediately.
These latest pilots give caregivers from overseas and their family members with a clear and direct pathway to Canada PR.

Canada is recognizing the value of caregivers. We made a promise to enhance the lives of caregivers along with their family members who come from overseas to care for our loved ones through these new pilots, we are executing exactly that, said Canadian Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen.
