British Columbia Invites 234 Candidates in the Recent Provincial Draw -29th May, 2019

British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program

On May 21, British Columbia Immigration, held its new draw to attract skilled workers as well as global graduates.

The draw invited 234 aspirants in five streams belonging to the British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program. The Minimum score was 75 for all the entry level as well as semi-skilled stream, and for the direct skilled workers (provincial) it was 95 points.

The Minimum score was 105 points for the streams catering to:

  • The Express Entry skilled workers,
  • International graduates,
  • The direct provincial international graduate stream

In the earlier BC draw; the focus was on 29 IT occupations using the BC PNP Tech Pilot. In the May 14 draw, there were 77 invitations issued in four streams of the BC PNP.

The least score required for all the four streams was 90. These are

  • The Direct Provincial Stream - Skilled Workers
  • The Direct Provincial Stream - International Graduates,
  • Express Entry streams for both these groups.

Additionally, in the Tech Pilot, candidates get a priority in processing in all existing BC streams.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot was launched in 2017 and is presently extended to 2019. It also has a list catering to 29 target occupations. Moreover, it features relaxed duration requirements. B.C. PNP draws specifically attract technology workers since May 2017. The province is a major force in the technology industry.

  • It must have a one-year duration
  • Job offer validity must be for 120 days at application time

After obtaining the nomination from the province there is a surety of Express Entry System selection, because of the addition of 600 CRS points. The Program is publishing the requisite scores that the immigrants need to obtain the invitation for immigration under various programs.

The international graduates need a score 30 points lower to the skilled workers, in the Canada Express Entry, as well as in the provincial stream.

The score is also low for semi-skilled and entry-level workers.
