British Columbia PNP issued 95 invitations to apply to immigration candidates for a B.C. provincial nomination for Canada PR on 14 January 2020.

The British Columbia province's Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot draw chosen 70 applicants beneath the Express Entry British Columbia and Direct Skills Immigration streams. Selected applicants were from either the Skilled Worker or the Global Graduate sub-streams and those selected were required to have a minimum of 90 points provincial score.

The British Columbia's Provincial Nominee Program Tech Pilot is a fast-track pathway of immigration for extremely demanded tech workers & foreign students. It runs by B.C.’s current provincial immigration streams.

To be considered and qualified for this program, aspirants need to have a valid employment offer from an employer in the BC province and it must be valid for tenure of 12 months. The employment offer from BC employer must be in one of the listed Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible professions.

To apply for the B.C. Skills Immigration or B.C. Express Entry streams, candidates need to create a profile by the British Columbia PNP’s online registration portal and register beneath its System of Skills Immigration Registration (SIRS). Applicants are assessed and granted with a score that depends on human capital factors like age of the applicant, education level, relevant & skilled work experience, ability in the English language and location of employment.

The British Columbia PNP also announced 25 Invitations to apply in a draw for its BC Entrepreneur Immigration Category. The minimum required score for this specific draw was 111 points, which is in line with the prior draws scores for this category.

The Entrepreneur Immigration category is exclusively for experienced business individuals who are seeking a pathway to Canada PR and who can prove themselves in the B.C. province and invest in the B.C. province and perform a commercially viable business that can produce notable benefits to the B.C. provincial economy.

Under this stream, applicants are judged based on human capital parameters and other factors such as business and/or relevant work experience, adaptability, individual net worth, and their business proposal and investment.
