Alberta Issues 262 Notifications In The Draw For Express Entry Stream
On June 21st, 2019, Alberta Immigration has issued 262 Notifications of Interest in the Express Entry Stream Draw.

The Government of Alberta had received the permission for selecting the suitable candidates, who had the profile in Federal Express Entry, and were meeting the current job demands of the province.

Such Applicants who had a Comprehensive Ranking Score of only 300 received these Notifications. This gives them a superior chance to get the consideration in the Invitation to apply seeking permanent residency in the future Draw of the Federal Express Entry. The lowest cut-off score in any previous Express Entry Draw was 438. All candidates having the NOI get the regular advantage to get addition of the 600 extra points in the Express Entry profile.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program details


This Program assists eligible candidates with a fast immigration process. The Express Entry Stream of the Program permits the province to nominate qualified persons having suitable skills to get the permanent residency. The candidates who can relocate and integrate in the communities economically get a preference.

Additionally the nominees can also apply for PR status for their common law partners/ spouses or dependent children, and can provide a good life for their families.

Candidates must first create the Express Entry Profile and they get selected depending upon the information they provide. After the issue of Notification of Interest by the AINP, aspirants can apply to seek the provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Nomination Requirements

  • Having the active Express Entry profile in the Federal pool;
  • An intention to immigrate permanently to Alberta;
  • Working in an occupation which supports provincial diversification and economic development
  • The minimum CRS score at 300.
Having a job offer or work experience in Alberta is not necessary but the AINP, gives precedence to the following attributes:
  • A work experience/ Job Offer in Alberta;
  • A degree from a Canadian institution and a valid job offer; and
  • A close relative living permanently in Alberta
  • There are changes in the criteria for PR applicants:
  • Firstly, there is no requirement of the income threshold, and secondly there are adjustments in the language requirements.
  • Applicants of National Occupational Classification C and D jobs need a CLB score of 4.

The three programs for receiving the provincial nomination are

  • Self-Employed Farmer Stream
  • The Express Entry Stream,
  • The Alberta Opportunity Stream,

Self Employed Farmer Stream

This Stream especially caters to such applicants who wish for starting the agricultural business in the province. The applying requirements here are:

  • A proof of education, work experience, training in the farming domain;
  • A proposed business plan;
  • Possess suitable Language Skills;
  • Possession of the high school diploma;
  • An annual Income of $23,392;
  • The minimum business investment of $500,000; and
  • A net worth of $500,000 or confirmed access to such funds

 The Express Entry Stream

The Express Entry Stream especially caters to such candidates who have the expertise in a top demand occupation that is beneficial for the development and economic growth of the province. Having a job offer or work experience in Alberta is not necessary but the AINP, gives precedence to the following attributes:

  • A work experience/ Job Offer in Alberta;
  • A degree from a Canadian institution and a valid job offer; and
  • A close relative living permanently in Alberta

Alberta Opportunity Stream

The Alberta Opportunity Stream especially caters to such applicants who possess appropriate work experience and an employment of full-time in a NOC job in the province. Applicants also have to meet specific requirements for being eligible:

Requirements for the AOS

  • They must possess status of a temporary resident and also hold the valid work permit;
  • They must possess an Alberta job and have suitable work experience;
  • A score of 4 on the NCLC language tests and CLB;

They need one of these also:

  • A completion certificate regarding the post-graduate program
  • A diploma of two years; or
  • An bachelors/graduate degree/ diploma or the graduate-level certificate; and
  • Must have appropriate work experience for the specific job applied; and
  • Possession of adequate funds to support self and family
