The year-over-year growth in Canada job openings is 12,200. The tremendous number of job openings was reported in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Newfoundland, and Yukon. When coming to the Industry, healthcare and retail trade sectors saw the most significant increase in job openings.
Newfoundland province recorded a 20.4% year-on-year increase in job openings in the third quarter of the year 2019. It indicates 800 more job openings related to the prior year. This is the 6th continuous quarter where the province is recording a year-over-year increase in job openings.
In Nova Scotia province, the number of job openings increased by 16.2%, or 1900 in number. The biggest number of job openings was reported in healthcare, retail trade, and social assistance sectors.
Quebec province is also observed an increase in job openings by 16.2% which is equivalent to 19,100 job openings. Almost 50 percent of these openings were reported in the health care, retail trade, and social assistance sectors.
Related to the past year, the retail trade area recorded a sum of 9,400 further openings in 2019. The other sector that observed an important increase in the number of job openings was the social assistance and healthcare sector that observed job openings increased by 2,800.
Prominently, the businesses depended on the social media platforms to fill the jobs in the event of higher than 50 percent of all these openings in the third quarter of 2019.
