An Express Entry draw held on Tuesday, 20 August 2019, where a sum of 3,600 invitations to apply for Canada PR were announced to applicants with comprehensive ranking scores of 457 and higher.

The Federal Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of proficient foreign workers. Eligible applicants access the pool of Express Entry and are announced a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score depends on the parameters like applicants education, applicants age, proficient work experience, and knowledge in the languages of English or French, along with other factors. The best-ranked appellants are announced with Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canada PR during periodic draws from the pool.

The present draw observed the lowest minimum Cut-off CRS score requirement since 1 May 2019. To access the pool of Express Entry, appellants must first satisfy the eligibility criteria for one of the Canadian Federal Highly Skilled economic-class immigration— the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Canada Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.

Refugees, Immigration and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) utilized a tie break rule in the recent draw held on 20 August; appellants had to have presented their profiles prior 24 March 2019, at 15:32:42 UTC. It intends that all applicants with CRS scores equal to and above 457, who enrolled their profile in the pool earlier to this date and time, got an ITA.

The 3,600 ITAs published in today’s draw and has brought the entire number of invitations published in 2019 to 56,200.

IRCC has been publishing 3,600 ITAs in each since 10 July 2019. Within 30 January and 26 June, IRCC was announcing 3,350 ITAs in each Express Entry draw, indicating the former four draws have produced 250 more ITAs. These increased draw sizes could benefit IRCC to exceed its one-year ITA record of 89,800 ITAs that was created in the last year.

Draws typically happen for every two weeks and a prolonged period within draws enables the pool of Express Entry to get more time to provide a higher number of high-scoring applicants. The lower minimum CRS score in the current draw due to the short time within draws.
