The size of the draw
The bulky size of this draw demonstrates a sign of the high admissions targets that are set for 2019 as well as for 2020 in the Federal High Skilled programs administered by the Express Entry. The programs are:
Express Entry also manages some of the Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada, which have set a taller target of admission for the next two years.
Candidates belonging to the Express Entry get a rank that depends on the scores gained for their age, education, skilled work experience, and finally the language proficiency. A fixed number of top ranking candidates obtain invitation to apply, and can move in front to acquire the Canadian permanent residence. Moreover, these invited candidates have a time of 60 days for applying to get the permanent residence. IRCC set the processing standard of only six months to benefit the applications in Express Entry.
IRCC has a standard for processing the applications seeking permanent residence and that is six months. In this draw the trend of decrease in the cut-off CRS score continued. The explanation here is that there is a regular, interval of two weeks between draws which IRCC is maintaining since May 2019. The time gap between draws is important and also has an outcome on the CRS cut-off score. A short interval draws fewer candidates who enter a profile in the EE pool.
A large size of the Draw allows IRCC to search the depth of the pool and can allow the candidates having a low CRS score to receive the ITA.
Issuing 49,000 Invitations
IRCC so far has issued 49,000 Invitations during 2019. The record for Express Entry is 89,800 ITAs that were issued in 2018.
PNPs linked to Express Entry
Many provincial nominee streams linked to Express Entry were active in recent weeks. Provincial nominee streams in Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island invited applications of Express Entry candidates to get the provincial nomination.
All the candidates belonging to Express Entry who receive the provincial nomination get extra 600 points in their CRS score and move ahead for an ITA. These points are valuable to such candidates who have a lower CRS score and do not reach the cut-off threshold of the federal EE draw. Moreover, many provincial nominee streams having a link with the Express Entry do not consider the CRS score of a candidate that is lower than the cut-off threshold of the federal draws. Ontario draw
In the Ontario new Tech draw, conducted through Human Capital Priorities Stream, the province issued 1,623 invitations to EE candidates with CRS scores in the range of 439 and 459 involving the work experience in six technological occupations.
The candidates obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree and securing 7-8 points in each category of the IELTS succeeded in obtaining the ITA in the present draw. The cut-off in CRS has declined by 11 points after June and IRCC is conducting large draws. It will be good if this trend continues.
It is expected that there will be an increase in draw sizes because Canada has set a high admission target for all the Express Entry programs. The August- December 2019 period is before us and there can be a new record.
